Milldale Stage 7

As an extension to the Milldale Wastewater tunnel project, March Cato’s tunnelling team, consisting of in-house TBM Operators, tunnelling staff, Tunnel Managers and Senior Site Executive completed 4no. trenchless drives to install 400m of 1050mm concrete jacking pipes. The tunnel drives extended between 70m and 155m in length, with a depth to invert of up to 13m and included an environmentally sensitive drive under the existing Waterloo creek. 

This project also included the open cut installation, testing and backfill of approximately 750m of 675mm Reinforced Concrete Rubber Ring Jointed pipe, through some soft, variable ground conditions. The open cut section included the excavation, installation and backfilling of 8no. manholes ranging from 1500mm and 2050mm in diameter.
